On February 3, Alexander Shangin, General Director of the Vologda Group of Companies, and Mikhail Glazkov, Deputy Governor of the Vologda region, discussed further cooperation via video conference. Alexander Shangin told about the current status of the Group of companies.
The production of the holding’s enterprises, which includes four logging companies and two sawmills, meets high international environmental standards. According to the results of 2021, the production of round timber by the Group of companies amounted to about one and a half thousand cubic meters, the production of marketable sawn timber – four hundred thousand cubic meters. In 2019, the production of pellets started, the volume of their production in 2021 amounted to 28.7 thousand tons.
“Group of companies “Vologodskie Lesopromyshlenniki” – one of the largest timber holdings in the region, whose competently built strategy allows you to look into the future with confidence and build new joint plans”, – said the Deputy Governor of the region Mikhail Glazkov.
At present, the current lease for the forest areas of the Group of companies is about 2,4 million cubic meters. The total leased area is more than 1 million hectares. Reforestation is carried out on all cut areas. In 2021, were grown more than 3 million seedlings, conducted reforestation activities on an area of about 10 thousand hectares, including the creation of forest crops on an area of more than 1200 hectares.
Two priority investment projects in the field of forest development have already been realized by the enterprises of the group of companies: the construction of woodworking plant in the city of Vytegra LLC “LDK ¹2” and the creation of a new high-tech processing industry based on LLC “Kharovsklesprom” in the city of Kharovsk.
Today together with JSC “Cherepovets Plywood and Furniture Mill” the project of modernization of LLC “VokhtogaLesDrev” in the settlement of Vokhtoga and LLC “ShKDP” in the settlement of Sheksna is realized as well as the priority investment project “Creation of birch plywood production” based on LLC “Plitwood” in the settlement of Vokhtoga.
