Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko discussed with the regions preparations for the upcoming fire season

Among the most important issues at the meeting spoke about the protection of settlements from forest fires, increasing the number of paratrooper firefighters and forest protection specialists, as well as the number of patrols of the forest fund.

Deputy Governor Mikhail Glazkov:
“There is a forest fire monitoring system in the Vologda Region. It includes: space monitoring via ISDM-Rosleskhoz system, active aerial patrolling and ground patrolling of the forest reserves of the region. In 2022 it is planned to engage a group of forces and means of about 3.8 thousand people and 2 thousand units of equipment, including forces and means from tenants of forest lands. Besides, this year it is planned to create a system of video monitoring of forest fires. In the western districts of the region 35 video surveillance cameras will be installed on cellular towers where the most frequent fires are recorded”.
