The enterprises of the Vologodskiye Lesopromyshlenniki Group of Companies are actively involved in ensuring fire safety in the Vologda region. Thus, specialists of the enterprises took part in localization and extinguishing of 7 forest fires, the total area of which was more than 800 hectares, operating in 5 districts of the region.
To extinguish forest fires forestry enterprises of the Group of companies allocated more than 150 employees with fire-fighting equipment, as well as heavy machinery – bulldozers, tractors and excavators for the creation of mineralized strips and fire breaks.
It should be noted that the enterprises of the Group of Companies participate in extinguishing fires not only in their leased base, fulfilling obligations to carry out fire-fighting activities under the current legislation and leases of forest areas. They also provide assistance in the forest areas of other lessees and in the unfixed forest fund.
It should be reminded that at the moment the forests of the Vologda Region are in a severe fire hazard situation. Because of the high class of fire danger in the forests, abnormally high temperatures and lack of precipitation mass forest fires, including large ones, began to occur.
