Organizational and personnel changes took place in the Group of companies “Vologda timber industry”

On January 17, 2022 Alexander Shangin became the General Director of the Vologda Timber Industry Group of Companies. The corresponding decision was taken today by the Board of Directors of the company.

Alexander Shangin was born on February 22, 1983. He graduated with honors from Moscow State Construction University (MISI-MGSU) with a degree in industrial and civil construction in 2005. He received an MEng degree from the Institution of Civil Engineering (UK).

Since 2013, he has held senior positions at Sveza Group, where he was responsible for transformation, investments, and strategic development at various stages of his career.

Alexander Churkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vologda Timber Group:

«Today’s changes in the company’s top management are aimed at strengthening the VLP team with effective managers who have proven themselves in the industry. The new manager will focus on technological innovation, strategic management and development of all business areas».

Alexander Shangin will focus on strengthening the leading position of Vologda Timber Industry Group in the timber processing industry and the growth of the company’s production and financial performance. The priorities will be to improve the company’s operational efficiency, expand the product portfolio and increase the competitiveness of its products.

Andrey Konoplyov, who previously held the position of General Director, was appointed Director of the Timber Processing Division. This is the priority area of the holding company, where the manager will have to bring deep processing and the associated modernization of production facilities to a new level of development.
