“Sheksninsky Wood Boards Plant, whose investors are Vologodskiye Lesopromyshlenniki Group and Cherepovetsky Plywood and Furniture Plant, mastered the production of chipboard with increased water resistance.
In February the company received a confirmation certificate which guarantees the board’s resistance to moisture. Chipboard based on urea resin has considerable strength, but has low water resistance. This is an important factor in the use of particleboard products intended for rooms with high humidity.
To increase the water resistance of particleboards, a hydrophobic additive, paraffin emulsion, was used. The visual difference of the moisture-resistant board from ordinary chipboard is its light green color.
Such board is used in rooms with high humidity, it is used to make furniture for bathrooms, as well as countertops and raised floors.
