Alexander Churkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “Vologda Forest Industries Group”, became a member of the operative staff for monitoring the problems of the forest complex

On March 2, 2022 there was a meeting of the Board of the Union of Timber Industry and Timber Exporters of Russia. The meeting was attended by a member of the Council of the Union, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “Vologda Group of Companies “Timber Industry” Alexander Churkin.

In connection with the introduction of sanctions and the negative situation in the economy of Russia in the Union of Timber Industry and Timber Exporters of Russia created the Operations Staff to monitor problems of the timber industry. Alexander Churkin joined it.

The task of the Headquarters is to collect operational information about the problems arising in the timber industry in connection with the current situation and constantly inform the Government of the Russian Federation and the Federal Executive Authority of these problems.

In addition, at a meeting of the Council were discussed current issues of the forest complex, including the introduction of a balance model of accounting for timber.

Alexander Churkin made a proposal to finalize the functionality of the newly established LesEgaIS in accordance with existing legislation. In particular to eliminate the problems in the acting (old version) of the LesEgaIS, to provide the implementation of the balance model of timber accounting only after correcting all existing remarks, to determine the legal status of the QR code that is formed in the electronic supporting document for timber transportation.

It was also offered to make changes in the Federal law dated 04.02.2021 ¹ 3-FZ “On amendments to the Forestry Code of the Russian Federation and some legislative acts of the Russian Federation to improve the legal regulation of forest relations” and remove redundant requirements.

According to the results of the Union’s Council, all proposals were sent to the Federal Forestry Agency for consideration.
