A new modular fully automatic water heating boiler house was put into operation at LLC Sheksninsky wood slab plant.
In February 2021 the board of directors of Sheksninsky Kombinat decided to build new boilers: a water heating boiler and a steam boiler in order to reduce the cost of finished products and close the heat plant of the mill, built in 1974.
The construction of the modular hot water boiler house started in June 2021. In order to minimize the cost and volume of civil and erection works, the boiler house was located in the vacant building of the former compressor station.
The boiler plant is equipped with three Russian-made boilers 5 megawatts each, a 10-cubic-meter tank (make-up water storage tank), a water treatment system and 4 network pumps. The facility is designed with the prospect of future development of production – reserved space for the fourth boiler, on anchored supports left room for the fourth pipe.
The cost of the project amounted to more than 70 million rubles. Savings on the project – 12 million rubles.

"The new hot-water boiler plant will make it possible to move away from the inefficient way of heating the industrial site of the old boiler house. Reducing fuel consumption for heat production will reduce the cost of a gigacalorie. That is our goal. It's the same with the steam boiler plant: the old one is far away from the MDF line and the resin distillation plant where the steam is delivered, and the new one is right next door. This means that the transportation losses through the grid will be minimized.
