“VLP Group” is carrying out a planned step-by-step reorganization of its own production facilities

Business is always aimed at making a profit. Neither the pandemic nor the economic crisis hindered this process. The Vologda Timber Industry Group has carried out an expert evaluation of all the company’s subdivisions. One of the stages of transformation was the modernization of the separate subdivision in Loiga settlement.

On August 2, the company’s management held a meeting with its staff. The employees were told about the prospects, in particular about the upcoming reconstruction of the lower warehouse.

Konstantin Rogatykh, Director of the Timber Division:

«”Vologodskie Lesopromyshlenniki is an advanced enterprise that applies the best practices in the industry in its work. It is extremely important for us to move away from hazardous production. Firstly, in order to reduce injuries in production, and secondly, to achieve an economic effect. In addition, we are purposefully changing the logistics scheme – we are developing a plan to phase out the narrow-gauge railroad».

Transportation by railroad is itself a very outdated option, which, given the current set of timber stock, has proven to be completely ineffective. To continue the activities of the site it was decided to reconstruct the lower warehouse, which includes: installation of access roads, loading racks, which will ensure the safety of work, arrangement of sites for storing timber, as well as the removal of timber products by road transport.

Undoubtedly, the audience was concerned about their future. They were answered by Oksana Yakovleva, Director of Communications, Organizational Development and Personnel of JSC “Vologda Timber Industry Group”:

«We act in strict compliance with labor law in implementing the planned measures, so the rights of employees will be respected. We offer all qualified specialists to develop in other companies of the VLP Group».

The event was also attended by the heads of the settlement and district administrations. An agreement was jointly reached on the construction of the passageway between the settlements of Kizema and Loiga. At the end of August, a joint site visit is planned to determine the terms of reference, timing and cost of the work.
